Tip #5: Learn How to Angle Your Tank
Angling may seem like an intuitive practice for any veteran World of Tanks player. However, angling your tank to improve its armor is a concept that many new players are unfamiliar with.
Knowing how to properly angle your tank when facing an opponent will help increase your tank’s effective armor and allow for better chances of bouncing incoming shots. The more you bounce shots, the less damage you receive, improving your odds of survival.
Before learning how angling works, a new World of Tanks player must first have a general understanding of how armor thickness varies from tank to tank, as well as the penetration capabilities of certain guns and shells. Angling can then be applied to increase one’s effective armor when facing certain tanks on the battlefield. Side-scraping is another technique that utilizes the concept of angling as well. Angling is an essential skill for new players who hope to progress to the higher tiers in World of Tanks.
