Tip #3: Focus on Survival
While kills and damage are important aspects of World of Tanks, the community seems to feel that survival should be prioritized above all else, at least for new players. A player who is able to survive an entire match by moving cautiously and spotting for their teammates is arguably more beneficial to their team than a player who rushed to get a kill and died shortly after.
Focusing on survival will automatically help a new player improve at World of Tanks. Trying to stay alive on the battlefield involves being more aware of your surroundings and cautious of the enemy team. This will indirectly instill habits that are needed to become a better player in the long run. While it’s still a good rule of thumb to try and deal more damage to opponents than the hit points on your own tank, survival should be the underlying goal in each battle.
