Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Death from Above
Keeping with the war theme, we’ll continue our list with the “Death from Above” mission from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It’s a good one to mention after the white phosphorus scene because this time you aren’t really forced to see the devastation you’ve caused up close.
What makes this mission so shocking for me, though, is the fact that you can view real footage of actual military operations that are strikingly similar to this video game mission. Both are easily found on YouTube.
In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, one such video of a real AC-130 firing on enemy combatants below includes commentary that references being able to see “pieces” of people that have been hit.
