Spec Ops: The Line - White Phosphorus Scene
This is a bad one. Many video games that deal with war will give you opportunities to kill people from a distance, which allows the player to stay disconnected from the carnage that their actions have caused.
In Spec Ops: The Line, however, you are forced to walk through the results of your actions, and the scene is something that is bound to make just about any gamer uncomfortable.
After hammering the enemy with white phosphorus mortar fire, players must walk through the gruesome aftermath. It’s bad enough to see soldiers in that state, but it’s only when you realize that you’ve killed dozens of civilians in the process that you’re in for one of the most shocking moments in gaming history. Truthfully… good for Spec Ops: The Line for not letting gamers off the hook, unlike our next example.
