Vetterli M1870
The Scout Class is up next with their newest primary weapon, the Vetterli M1870, another Italian-made weapon. The Vetterli M1870 was the Italian service rifle for close to 20 years, until it was replaced by the M1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali variant.
Not much is known about the in-game Vetterli M1870, though if the real-world statistics are anything to go by, we could end up with something similar to the Martini-Henry. The original M1870/87 fired 10.4x47mmR rounds while the M1870/87/15 used a 6.5x52mm round. Then there were three different magazine sizes, a single shot, four-round, and six-round. But it's looking like we get the four-round version in Battlefield 1 - though that's just based off of the CTE, which is subject to change.
However, what we do know – according to the Battlefield 1 Wiki – is that there will be two versions in-game, the Infantry and Carbine. The Infantry is your standard fare while the Carbine utilizes a shorter barrel and a magnified aperture sight.
