Best Tanks to Go Hull Down with in World of Tanks

The best tanks to use when going hull down in World of Tanks.

VK 100.01 (P)

The German VK 100.01 (P) was recently added in the 9.17.1 update for World of Tanks and stands as one of the best tanks to use in a hull-down position. The VK 100.01 (P) was introduced as part of a new Maus line for tankers to work down, one of the best tank lines in the German tech tree.

Part of the VK 100.01 (P)’s success comes from its extraordinarily thick armor, with its frontal armor on its turret being absurdly sturdy. The turret’s armor comes in at a monstrous 230mm, while the sides and rear offer 160 and 140mm of unfortunately flat armor. The hull, however, offers 200, 130, and 120mm worth of protection for the front, sides, and rear, respectively.

The newest edition to the German tank line is the VK 100.01(P) with absurdly high armor values, making it one of the best tanks to use in a hull-down position.

As with the Maus, the VK 100.01 (P) is extremely slow and offers a large target for SPGs. Remember the above tip, and keep making slight adjustments to your position to throw off the aim of any enemy units. Be aware of if you are flanked, because premium shells will have an easy time of penetrating your sides.

It’s important for every tanker to understand the concept of going hull down, especially at the higher tiers. Make it a habit to go hull down while using the tanks on this list to greatly improve your chances for survival in World of Tanks.
