Best Tanks to Go Hull Down with in World of Tanks

The best tanks to use when going hull down in World of Tanks.

T-62A

Not all of the best hull down tanks in World of Tanks are going to be heavies. The T-62A, for example, is a Tier 10 Soviet Medium tank that works great for going hull down due to its heavily armored turret. The T-62A has front, side, and rear turret armor values of 240 mm, 161 mm, and 65 mm respectively, rivaling the turret armor of several Heavy tanks of the same tier.

While the turret armor on the T-62A is strong, its hull armor is significantly less so. Not only does this tank’s turret promote going hull down, it really needs to hull down to protect its weak hull.

For a Medium tank for going hull down, opt for the T-62A.

Although this tank has a well-armored turret, it has very poor gun depression, which can be problematic when trying to peek over ridges or otherwise aim downward. The best way to go hull down with the T-62A is to take cover behind a rock or another object so that your hull is hidden and only your turret is exposed, sticking up over the top. This way, you can avoid having to aim down while keeping your hull protected.
