Nintendo divulges Animal Crossing: New Horizons Earth day updates and beyond

Nature Day, May Day, International Museum day and more are on the way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Just a day in advance of our real world Earth Day, Nintendo has unveiled a full suite of updates planned for the coming months of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including the Earth Day celebrations.

Arriving April 23, Leif the Sloth will be available as a new visitor to the island, bringing his Garden Shop with him. You’ll be able to buy a variety of flowers from Leif, as well as new plants including Azaleas and Tea Olives, which grow as small shrubberies and bushes.

That’s not all though, because Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler will also be sailing over to the island from time to time. Hop aboard and you can peruse and purchase from his fine art gallery. The paintings aren’t for your home, though. Blathers’ museum has received and expansion, opening up a full new suite for an art gallery. It looks extremely expansive, with room for statues, paintings and even more! We're betting they won't let us submit our own, terrible art, because oh boy would we ruin the theme.

Beyond April 23, Nintendo also announced a series of future events that’ll be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here’s what we’ve been shown so far:

  • Nature Day - 4/23 to 5/4: Players can partake in limited-time Nature Day activities to earn Nook Miles.
  • May Day - 5/1 to 5/7: Players can purchase May Day tickets to take special flights to a May Day Tour.
  • International Museum Day - 5/18 to 5/31: Blathers’ museum will host a Stamp Rally, encouraging you to collect stamps from different areas of the museum.
  • Wedding Season - 6/1 to 6/30: Harvey is hosting wedding photo shoots on his island and needs your help!

So that's April, May and June covered! If you need us during the upcoming months, we’ll be expanding our shrubbery collection and establishing a collection of high-cultured art. Which Animal Crossing: New Horizons event are you most looking forward to? Let us know down in the comments below!
