It’s finally Friday, which means it’s Xur day in Destiny 2. Every week, Xur appears in Destiny 2 on Friday at a random location, leading players to ask where to find him and what Exotics he’s selling.
When you find Xur, you can purchase Exotic items for Legendary Shards, which is great if you hoard Shards like we do. Xur’s inventory refreshes each week, so in the event you don’t find anything you want to buy this week, you can hold onto your Legendary Shards and try again next week.
Again, because Xur’s location changes every week, finding him can be a bit of a hassle. To make things easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where to find Xur in Destiny 2 and a list of all the Exotic items he’s selling during the week of April 17, 2020!
Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - April 17, 2020

Each Friday, Xur spawns at a random location and sells Exotic goods in exchange for Legendary Shards. To find him, it helps to remember that Xur typically cycles between areas he’s previously visited. While this can make it easier to guess where he’ll be, it’s still a pain to have to go through each potential spawn location in order to find him.
Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss him even if you correctly guess where he’s going to spawn. When Xur officially arrives in Destiny 2, he’ll stay put for a few days and will sell Exotic items like armor pieces and a random weapon.
If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday ends, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy items from Xur. During the week of April 17, Xur can be found hanging out inside the Tower Hangar.
To get to Xur, simply head to the Tower then make your way over to the Hangar area. When you’re inside the Hangar, head past the Dead Orbit vendor and up a nearby flight of stairs. At the back of these stairs and off to the left, you’ll spot Xur. For visual directions, check out the video embed at the bottom of this article which shows you exactly where to go.

From April 17 until April 21, Destiny 2 players will be able to find Xur at the location listed above. By interacting with Xur, you’ll be able to browse through his updated inventory of Exotic gear. Because Xur’s inventory refreshes on a weekly basis, it’s fine if you decide to pass on the items Xur has on offer this week as he may have what you’re looking for next week.
In addition to Exotic armor pieces for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters, Destiny 2 players can purchase one Exotic weapon and a Fated Engram from Xur. Want to know what Xur is selling this week? This week, Xur has a surprisingly awesome lineup of Exotic armor. It’s been forever since we’ve seen the Armamentarium in Xur’s rotation, and the Crown of Tempests isn’t a bad piece either if you want to deck out your Warlock. In addition to these stellar Exotic armor pieces, Xur has a Coldheart Exotic trace rifle on offer for 29 Legendary Shards.
When it comes to trace rifles, we tend to lean towards the Wavesplitter over the Coldheart as it’s not the best for PvP. That said, the Coldheart can be particularly useful in PvE scenarios in a pinch. If none of the Exotic items up for sale this week interest you, you can save your Legendary Shards and check back with Xur next week to see if he has something more in line with what you’re looking for.
