The Outer Worlds Switch release rescheduled for launch in June

The Outer Worlds has a new release date on Switch of June 5 after coronavirus delays.

The Outer Worlds will now release on Nintendo Switch on June 5, after delays caused by the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

Obsidian's much-lauded space RPG is being ported to the Switch by Virtuos Games, so expect a high quality version of the game now in handheld proportions.

The Outer Worlds was intended to release for Nintendo Switch this month, though was delayed back in February after publisher Private Division announced the Singaporean team at Virtuos had been impacted by the virus. Singapore has now somewhat controlled the epidemic in its borders, and work obviously has resumed or continued to a state that they have a new timeframe for the port's completion.

Other updates from its month-or-so more in production mean the physical retail version of The Outer Worlds on Nintendo Switch will come with a cartridge, rather than simply a download code as was originally planned. This will, however, also require a day one update patch which Obsidian claims could be up to 6GB in size.

The Outer Worlds will release on Nintendo Switch on June 5 at a retail price of $59.99, digitally and physically.
