Tom Nook may be taking all your money each time you pay off your debt, but thankfully Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ getaway island is filled with ways to make an extra lump of cash.Pne of the most reliable ways to haul in a tidy chunk of change is by growing yourself a Money Tree.

To nurture your own trust fund, you’ll need to keep an eye out for a glowing spot on the ground of your island. It’ll look like a little shining golden light from the ground. If you dig in this spot with a shovel, you’ll discover a stash of bells, and the hole you pulled them from will be shining brightly. You could pocket the cash and leave it at that, but if you want a more reliable and larger lump of money, you should bury some money there instead.

Stand next to the glowing hole and, with a shovel in your hands, select a bundle of bells from your inventory. If you don’t have any bags of bells, you can separate them from your main stash of cash by selecting it instead of an item. Selecting the bells should show up an option to “Bury in Hole,” which will shove the bundle back where you found it, sprouting a tree up on top. Make sure to remember the tree’s location, as once it grows and starts to flourish, it’ll produce a bundle of bells each harvest. Now that’s a tree worth keeping in your orchard.

Bury 1000 bells and your tree will return 3000 each harvest, but bury 10k and you'll get 30k bells each harvest. We'll let you decide which is the better deal. No, actually, we won't. Bury 10k bells, you cowards.
