The Steam Game Festival: Spring Edition begins today, March 18, and will run until March 23, giving you five days to enjoy the 40+ game demos on offer. Setting this Steam Game Festival apart are setbacks due to COVID-19. With the illness spreading rapidly, events like GDC and E3 have decided to cancel their plans.

The cancellation of events like GDC impacts indie developers harder than most AAA studios, leading to outlets offering to host digital directs for indie games. Adding to these ideas, the Spring Edition of the Steam Game Festival will give these affected indies an opportunity to showcase their games.

“With 40+ titles featured, the Spring Edition highlights an even larger selection of games from studios who missed the chance to demo their games at showcases like Indie MEGABOOTH, Day of the Devs, and The MIX at this year’s GDC,” a press release shared by Geoff Keighley explains.

The Steam Game Festival: Spring Edition is live, so if you want to support these indie devs by checking out their games and adding them to your wishlist, you can do so by viewing the Spring Edition page. Looking over the available indie game demos, you’ll see a lot of upcoming games set to release later this year like Cloudpunk, She Dreams Elsewhere, SkateBIRD, and Garden Story among many others.
