For quite some time, 2016’s DOOM served as a benchmark game to test PC hardware. If your PC was able to run DOOM at the highest possible settings, you were set. Will 2020’s DOOM Eternal offer the same sort of PC benchmark test? Yes, absolutely.

If you meet the minimum or recommended specs, you’ll be running DOOM Eternal at its lowest setting at 1080p and 60Hz. Not bad, right? If you hit the max Ultra-Nightmare spec tier, you can go all the way up to 1140p at 120Hz or 2160p at 60Hz.

As you probably guessed, DOOM Eternal is a hefty game and requires an equally hefty PC to handle it even on its lowest possible settings. Low Settings, can run at 1080p at 60Hz.

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (4GB), GTX 1060 (3GB), GTX 1650 (4GB), AMD Radeon R9 280 (3GB), AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB), RX 470 (4GB)

DOOM Eternal - Recommended PC Specs

Medium to High Settings, can run at 1080p at 60Hz up to 1440p at 60Hz.

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • RAM: 8GB
  • HDD: 50GB
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K or higher, AMD Ryzen 7 1800X or higher
  • Graphics at Medium: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB), NVIDIA GeForce 970 (4GB), AMD RX (8GB)
  • Graphics at High: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (8GB), RTX 2060 (6GB), AMD Radeon RX Vega56 (8GB)

DOOM Eternal - Ultra-Nightmare PC Specs

Max Settings, can run at 1440p at 120Hz and 2160p at 60Hz.

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10
  • RAM: 16GB
  • HDD: 50GB
  • Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K or higher, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or higher
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (11GB), AMD Radeon VII (16GB)

For most gamers with modern PCs, you should at least be able to run DOOM Eternal at its lowest setting.

If your plan is to upgrade your computer to ensure it can run DOOM Eternal at its Ultra-Nightmare setting, starting with your graphics card and processor is a solid bet, although you may need to upgrade other components like your power supply.
