Can you play Call of Duty: Warzone without PS Plus or Xbox Live?

If you’ve been hearing all the fanfare for Call of Duty: Warzone and want to play, you may be wondering whether you need PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold. While Call of Duty: Warzone is free-to-play and doesn’t require you to own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in order to play it, there are a few things you’ll need on the side.

Can you play Call of Duty: Warzone without PS Plus or Xbox Live?

The quick answer to the question of whether you can play Call of Duty: Warzone without PS Plus or Xbox Live is technically no, you can’t. PlayStation players have a bit of an advantage PS Plus isn’t explicitly required in order to play Call of Duty: Warzone. However, you’ll still want to have a stable internet connection set up and ready to go with your PS4 in order to get the most out of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Meanwhile, Xbox players will need a Xbox Live Gold subscription to play Call of Duty: Warzone. There’s no getting around it. If you have multiple console options available to you and you don’t want to buy a subscription like Xbox Live Gold, it may be better to play Call of Duty: Warzone on PS4 or PC. Speaking of PC, no subscription is required for Call of Duty: Warzone if you’re playing on PC.

Again, you need to have an internet connection of some sort, but at this point we’re willing to bet you already do in which case you’re set up and ready to go.
