  • Press and hold down on your d-pad to bring up your Drop Menu.
  • Use your right thumbstick to cycle through your items. Highlight (hover over) the item you wish to drop.
  • Press Y on Xbox One or Triangle on PS4 to drop the item, or a stack of that item.
  • Press X on Xbox One or Square on PS4 to drop everything in that item slot.

To drop items in Call of Duty: Warzone when playing on console, you’ll first need to press down on your d-pad and hold it to view your Drop Menu. You can move through the Drop Menu which appears towards the bottom of your screen using your right thumbstick. In it, you’ll see things like Armor Plates, weapons, ammos, etc.

When you find something you want to get rid of, highlight (hover over) the item, then press Y on Xbox One or Triangle to drop it, or drop a specific stack of that item. If you have multiples of that item (like if you want to get rid of weapon ammo) and want to drop everything all at once rather than a stack, you can also press X on Xbox One or Square on PS4.

In doing so, you’ll free up that full inventory slot. Not only does dropping items give you the ability to pick up or buy new and better items, it also allows you to share important resources with your teammates. For example, if you have an abundance of ammo and your friend is running low, you can share some of your ammo to ensure you’re both prepared for the next firefight.

If your friend doesn’t immediately notice the dropped items, you can also Ping whatever you’ve dropped to give them a little nudge in the right direction.
