  • You can either rely on the game’s internal auto-save feature, or manually save at Spirit Wells in Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Unlike its predecessor, Ori and the Blind Forest, there are actually two ways to save in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. First, Ori and the Will of the Wisps has an internal auto-save feature this time around that’ll automatically keep track of your progress. Whenever you see a glowing, rotating circle in the bottom left corner of your screen, you’ll know the game has auto-saved.

The game does this on a regular and reliable basis, though you can trigger it yourself by fast traveling, progressing through the story, etc. If you like to be completely certain your game is saved, you can also manually save in a similar manner to what was available in Ori and the Blind Forest.

Specifically, whenever you encounter a Spirit Well, you can interact with it to manually save your progress. Finding and interacting with Spirit Wells is recommended not just because you can use them to save, but they’re also integral to the game’s fast travel system. As such, you’ll quickly become familiar with them one way or another.

To recap, Ori and the Will of the Wisps has a fantastic auto-save feature that’ll keep track of your progress for you. Of course, you can manually save as needed by interacting with Spirit Wells. To see what interacting with a Spirit Well looks like, or the auto-save symbol that’ll appear naturally as you play Ori and the Will of the Wisps, be sure to check out the gameplay below courtesy of Shacknews!
