For those curious as to how long it’ll take to beat Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the answer is that it takes most gamers around 12 hours to complete the main story campaign. One thing to keep in mind if you’ve never played the original game, Ori and the Blind Forest, is that it’s far more challenging than it looks.

Visually, Ori and the Will of the Wisps seems like a cute, approachable platformer. Don’t let its appearance fool you, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is surprisingly difficult and is more along the lines of a “Metroidvania” type game. It can take some getting used to.

Gamers who’ve played Ori and the Blind Forest will already feel fairly comfortable with the way Ori and the Will of the Wisps plays, and as such, will be able to beat the game much faster than newcomers. That said, if you’re new to Ori, setting the game to either Easy or Normal should allow you to get through the story without too much trouble.

If you’re looking to beat Ori as quickly as possible in order to have free time set aside for Animal Crossing or Doom, the good news is that you can potentially beat the game in around 8-9 hours on its Easy difficulty setting. This makes sense, as Ori and the Blind Forest could be completed in as little as 8 hours as well.

If you want to get 100% completion, or are looking to take on the game’s Hard difficulty setting and grind your way through, it could take you up to 16 hours to complete Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It really depends on your experience, goals, and general approach. On average though, the completion time appears to be 12 hours.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps sits in a nice sweet spot of being not too long, but not too short.

Now that you know how long it’ll take you to beat Ori and the Will of the Wisps, what are your thoughts on the game? Are you planning to play it for free as part of Xbox Game Pass? Are you a fan of the original and are buying the sequel to see how the story progresses? Let us know down in the comments below!
