How to romance/ask a character out in Rune Factory 4

To romance a character in Rune Factory 4, you need to first raise their LP (Love Point) level to at least 7. You can check the LP level for each character by opening the menu with the plus button. Raising LP to 7 can be a slow process, and requires talking to them often and giving them gifts that they like each day. The worse news is, there’s no guarantee they’ll say yes when there.
Once a character is at LP 7 you can ask them out by pressing L or R when talking to them. This will open a menu which lets you select the “I love you!” option. Confirm your choice with “I really love you!” and your character will ask them to date you. Enjoy, because you now have an RNG chance of being accepted.
Don’t worry if you are rejected (they’ll treat your proposal as a joke), because persistence is key. Keep trying to raise their LP level with gifts and conversation, and ask them each and every day. Keep at it and eventually, they should say yes. To take things further and marry you’ll need both an engagement ring and double bed in most cases, though playing as a woman you’ll only need the ring if you turn down a proposal.
It’s worth noting that you can romances (but not marry) as many characters as you like at once in Rune Factory 4, but it’s extremely difficult to raise all of their LP enough to have them accept you, so we wouldn’t really recommend trying it.
