  • Save up your Nook Miles.
  • Exchange your Nook Miles for a Nook Miles Ticket at the Nook Stop Terminal.
  • Take your Nook Miles Ticket to the Airport and exchange it with Orville to embark on an Island Tour.
  • Return to Wilbur the Pilot whenever you’re finished exploring the island on your tour to return to the Airport.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll be able to explore and customize your own private island. Rather than limit you to one island, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will let you visit small islands nearby. On those islands, you can explore and gather materials and creatures to take back with you to your island.

So, how do you explore these mysterious islands? Well, you’ll need to take advantage of the Island Tours feature. Using Island Tours – also known as mystery island tours – you’ll be able to spend some time on other nearby islands. To go on an Island Tour, you’ll need to save up your Nook Miles during your time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Once you’ve saved up enough Nook Miles, visit a Nook Stop Terminal and exchange those Nook Miles for a Nook Miles Ticket. With your Nook Miles Ticket in hand, visit the Airport and exchange it with Orville at the counter. Note that you can’t influence where you land specifically as this is left up to the pilot to decide.

Because of this, every location you land at will be a surprise, which can be nice when you’re seeking out some variety beyond your own personal island. Again, you can collect materials and creatures on your Island Tours to take back with you to your home island. The more Island Tours you go on, the more unique things you’ll be able to find and gather in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
