  • Install the 3.6 Update for Nintendo Switch.
  • Open up The Witcher 3. Choose 'Cloud Saves' from the main menu.
  • Choose between Steam or GOG and log into your account to sync your Cloud saves.

The Witcher 3 now lets you import cross save data from your PC to the Nintendo Switch thanks to the 3.6 Update. You can import PC save data from Steam or GOG, so if you own a copy of The Witcher 3 on either of these platforms, you now have the convenience of continuing your game on-the-go via Nintendo Switch. Convenient, right?

To import your save data from Steam or GOG, you’ll need to make sure you have the 3.6 Update downloaded. Next, open up The Witcher 3. In the main menu, you’ll find a ‘Cloud Saves’ option. Select Cloud Saves, then choose between Steam or GOG. You’ll need to log into your Steam or GOG account in order to find your save files.

Once you’ve logged in, you can sync your Cloud saves to the Nintendo Switch and continue playing the save file you created on PC on Nintendo Switch. It’s as easy as that! For a visual guide on how this process works, we’ve included the official trailer from Nintendo that shows the implementation of cross-saves in Divinity Original Sin 2 (which was the first game that supported cross saves on the Switch).

Now that you know how to use cross saves in The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch, what are your thoughts on the added feature? Are you excited to continue your Steam or GOG saves on-the-go with your Nintendo Switch? Comment below!
