The Breakneck is a precision auto rifle which comes with the Rampage and Onslaught perks. Rampage delivers stacking damage buffs with each kill, while Onslaught increases rate of fire with each Rampage level applied. Put simply, the more you kill with Breakneck, the better it gets. Before you start the mission for Breakneck, you need to speak with The Drifter in the Tower. He’ll give you the weapon quest, at which point you’ll need to do the following:

  • Get 500 auto rifle kills
  • Get 100 auto rifle multikills
  • Defeat 150 challenging enemies
  • Complete 40 Gambit matches.

Building up 150 challenging enemy kills will rack up in no time, and auto rifle kills aren’t too bad to build up slowly. The long one here is Gambit, if you’re not usually into the mode. We recommend taking an auto rifle into Gambit so you can build up the kills and multikills while counting down the 40 Gambit matches. You don’t even need to win the Gambit matches, just complete them, meaning anyone — even PvP haters —  can grab this one. That’d be a shame though, as the Breakneck auto rifle is a brilliant Gambit weapon.
