  • Visit the Giant Banyan and accept the “Adventure in the Myrisles” quest.
  • Head to Ulterior Omninesia and defeat Clan Belsoto at the waterfall.
  • Steal the Clan Belsoto outfit hanging up on the other side of the waterfall area.
  • Return to Carlos at the Giant Banyan and head inside.
  • Defeat all Clan Belsoto members until Carlos pulls you back outside.
  • Outside the Giant Banyan, Carlos will thank you and reward you with a pair of Crystal Skates.

You may encounter red patches of ice fairly early on in Temtem as they’re located in a cave on Deniz that can be accessed once you have your Surfboard. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to easily control the direction in which you slide across the ice. You kind of, you know, bounce around off walls and hope for the best.

If you’re wondering whether there’s an item that will let you control the direction you skate in, the answer is yes! The “Crystal Skates” are a Key item you’ll receive much, much later on in Temtem that can be used to control the direction you skate in when on ice. To get the Crystal Skates, you’ll need to get the Elevator Key after beating Rawiri.

Using the Elevator, you'll want to visit Citerior Omninesia first as it features the Flywalk and the Giant Banyan. Once you get to Citerior Omninesia, you’ll need to make your way over to the Giant Banyan and talk to Carlos who’s located right outside. Speak with Carlos and you’ll acquire the “Adventure in the Myrisles” quest.

With this quest, you’ll need to head back to the Elevator and visit Ulterior Omninesia. There, you’ll surf past a few Clan Belsoto members near a waterfall. After beating them, you’ll need to steal their clothes and return back to Carlos outside the Giant Banyan in Citerior Omninesia. Now that you have a disguise, you can get inside the Giant Banyan and fight off several Clan Belsoto members.

After you’re successful and safely back outside, Carlos will thank you for your help and will reward you with a pair of Crystal Skates. Once you have the Crystal Skates you’ll be able to control how you move on ice. Like the Surfboard, the Crystal Skates work automatically. All you have to do is approach a patch of ice and you’ll begin skating.

Warning: You will lose your Crystal Skates later on in the Temtem story. Once you unlock them, it's worth backtracking and exploring all of the ice patches you might've missed before progressing forward in Temtem.
