Overcooked 2 has received yet another tasty morsel of free DLC in the form of a lunar new year-themed Spring Festival update.
Ghost Town Games has continued their remarkably generous approach to DLC content, following up on a second year of holiday-themed cooking with a new set of lunar new year levels that you can access for not cost at all. Who doesn’t like to receive free food? Wait, what do you mean we need to cook it? And with this rowdy bunch? Oh dear, this won’t turn out well at all...
The Spring Festival update gives chefs the chance to celebrate the year of the rat by transforming into one themselves (still following strict culinary standards, naturally). A new Rat and Turtle chef arrive for free, and the bubbling hot pots which need to be dragged between fires return in five new levels. Oh and yes, that pesky dragon will arrive to get in your way all over again.
Overcooked 2 has several seasonal updates available for free right now. All you need to do to access them is to choose the extras section from the main menu (after selecting one of the shiny new chefs, naturally). Pick the seasonal content and you’ll be whisked away to a hub that lets you visit all of the content added for free so far.
If you’re hungry for more Overcooked 2 action to fall out with your friends and loved ones over, there’s been plenty of DLC for the game out already. The Carnival or Chaos, Night of the Hungry Horde, Campfire Cook Off and Surf ‘N’ Turf all add new chefs, levels and mechanics to whet that competitive cooking appetite.
The Spring Festival update is already live on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC, with publisher Team17 stating that it’ll be coming to Xbox One very soon.
