In Temtem, you’re going to want to learn how to capture different Temtem. The more Temtem you have available to you, the better prepared you’ll be for random encounters and Tamer battles. How to capture a Temtem
Capturing a Temtem works similarly to catching a Pokemon (we know, we’re sorry for the comparison). When you encounter a random Temtem, you’ll battle with them using your Temtem. To make it easier to catch the Temtem you’re battling, you’ll want to whittle down its HP and tire it out.
Be careful when doing this as it can be easy to defeat the Temtem you want to catch.
To avoid overpowering the Temtem you're trying to catch, try selecting the clock symbol during one of your Temtem’s turn to have them rest. In doing so, you won’t attack the random Temtem with both of your Temtem at once. When the Temtem’s HP is low enough, open your inventory using the bag icon and select a TemCard to use.
You’ll see a brief animation of the TemCard digitally capturing the Temtem. If the process is successful, you’ll be able to rename your new Temtem and add them to your Squad. If the process is not successful, you can always try again as long as you have enough TemCards on hand.
Other ways to make a Temtem more susceptible to being captured is through status effects, which we’ve touched upon in a previous guide. By giving the opposing Temtem a status effect like Asleep, you’ll have more of an advantage when it comes to capturing them.
To recap, you’ll want to whittle down the opposing Temtem’s HP and/or give them a status effect to make them easier to capture. To capture, select the bag icon at the bottom of your screen to open your inventory, then select a TemCard to use it.
