It’s Friday which means it’s officially Xur time in Destiny 2. For those new to the game, Xur appears every Friday at a randomized location in Destiny 2. When you find Xur, you’re able to browse through his inventory of Exotic items and purchase them in exchange for Legendary Shards.
Because Xur’s location changes every week, it can be difficult to hunt him down, especially if you’re itching to buy some Exotics. Fortunately, Xur tends to pick places to spawn based on areas he’s previously spawned in.
What’s more, Xur will remain at his chosen location from Friday all the way until Tuesday, giving you plenty of time to get your Legendary Shards in order. To help make everything easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where to find Xur in Destiny 2 and a list of all the Exotic items he has available for purchase during the week of January 10, 2020.
Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - January 10, 2020

In Destiny 2, Xur acts as an Exotic goods vendor who appears at random locations every Friday. While Xur typically cycles between areas he’s visited before, it can be a pain to have to travel to all of these potential spawn points in order to find him. Something you’ll want to keep in mind when hunting for Xur is that you won’t be able to find him until Friday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) or later.
If you arrive too early, you may miss Xur, even if you correctly guessed where his weekly spawn was going to be. When Xur finally arrives in Destiny 2, he’ll stay put as his chosen locations and will sell Exotics to anyone with enough Legendary Shards on hand. Xur will be available in Destiny 2 from Friday until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST).
After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday at the same time to find Xur again. During the week of January 10, Xur can be found in The Rig on Titan. To get to Xur, spawn in on Titan, then make your way over to the landing zone. At the edge of the platform is an open building and inside this building, you’ll find Xur.
What Xur is selling in Destiny 2 - January 10, 2020

Starting on January 10, Destiny 2 players are able to visit Xur at the location outlined above. At this location, you’re free to browse through Xur’s updated inventory of Exotic items, with Xur’s inventory refreshing every week. In Destiny 2, everything sold by Xur can be purchased with Legendary Shards, with most items priced at or around 23 Legendary Shards in total.
Along with Exotic armor pieces for Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks, Destiny 2 players can purchase one Exotic weapon from Xur along with a Fated Engram. - Black Talon (Exotic Sword) - 29 Legendary Shards
- Lucky Pants (Exotic Hunter Leg Armor) - 23 Legendary Shards
- Transversive Steps (Exotic Warlock Leg Armor) - 23 Legendary Shards
- Eternal Warrior (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 23 Legendary Shards
- Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
Along with Exotic armor pieces like the Eternal Warrior, Xur has a Black Talon available for purchase this week. The Black Talon is a fun Exotic sword to have in your arsenal in Destiny 2. Plus, the Black Talon comes with the Crow’s Wing roll this week that lets you fire projectiles for those looking for variety to their melee.
Of course, not everyone enjoys playing with a sword, so it’s totally understandable if you’d prefer to save your Legendary Shards and check back with Xur next week.
