Your Hideout is an important place in Escape from Tarkov, but the generator which powers it can only do so while it’s chugging away on fuel. To keep it going you’ll need to find and keep supplies from your Raids. There are two items that you can find to supply the goods, though many other items have fuel in their name. Here’s what you’re looking for:

  • Expeditionary fuel tank - Size: 2x2 - Contains 60 fuel for your Hideout generator.
  • Metal fuel tank - Size: 2x3 - Contains 100 fuel for your Hideout generator.

The tanks aren't too rare, so hunt around on each map and you'll probably find some. As well as finding these while out on Raids, you can also craft Expeditionary fuel tanks from eight Crickent Lighters and six Zibbo lighters, or buy Metal fuel tanks from Jaeger (level 2) for a bunch of matches. Upgrading your Generator will allow you to fill more fuel slots, keeping it active for longer.

The Expeditionary fuel tank has enough generator fuel to last 14 hours and 26 minutes, while the Metal fuel tank has enough generator fuel to last 25 hours. Given those numbers are in realtime, that might not sound like an awful lot, but you can make a single fuel tank last a really long while just by turning your Generator off whenever you exit your Hideout or you know you'll finish crafting an item. If you don't mind how long it takes,  So long as you remember to do this you’ll only need to get Generator Fuel in Escape from Tarkov from time to time.

Now that you know how to get Generator Fuel in Escape from Tarkov, you can get to work upgrading your Generator and your Hideout in turn. For more tips and tricks, consider looking at these articles:
