The Star Wars event is live in Fortnite, bringing with it fun new additions including Lightsabers. By finding a Lightsaber in Fortnite, you’ll be able to use it in combat while also completing weekly challenges related to the Star Wars event. Having a hard time finding a Lightsaber? Where to find Lightsabers in Fortnite

- Lightsabers can be found in Star Wars chests found near TIE Fighter crash sites, Frenzy Farm, and under Christmas Trees in Christmas-y areas.
- To attack with a Lightsaber, press LMB on PC, RT on PS4, R2 on Xbox One, and ZR on Nintendo Switch.
- To block with a Lightsaber, press RMB on PC, LT on PS4, L2 on Xbox One, and XL on Nintendo Switch.
The first question many players have is where to find Lightsabers in Fortnite. The quick answer is that Lightsabers can be found in many different locations throughout the map. To get one, all you need to do is keep an eye out for special blue Star Wars chests as shown in the image above.
Given the timely Christmas theme in Fortnite, we recommend seeking out Christmas Trees in buildings and homes. During our time in the game, we found Star Wars chests under these Christmas Trees on a fairly regular basis. By opening a Star Wars chest, you’ll be given one or more Lightsabers in Fortnite.

For more specific areas to search, we recommend landing near TIE Fighter crash sites (indicated by billowing plums of smoke), or around the buildings that comprise Frenzy Farm. When we opened our first Star Wars chest it was in a house near Frenzy Farm. From the chest, we were given the following Lightsabers:
- Luke’s Lightsaber
- Kylo Ren’s Lightsaber
- Rey’s Lightsaber
- Mace Windu’s Lightsaber
Once you’ve acquired a Lightsaber and have it equipped as you would with any other weapon, you’re ready to complete challenges including dealing damage and blocking damage. To deal damage with your Lightsaber, you’ll want to attack as normal using LMB on PC, RT on PS4, R2 on Xbox One, and ZR on Nintendo Switch.
To block damage with your Lightsaber, you’ll want to use RMB on PC, LT on PS4, L2 on Xbox One, and XL on Nintendo Switch. Note that to deal damage, you’ll need to be close enough to your opponent as the Lightsaber is (as you’d expect) a melee weapon, not a ranged weapon. By keeping that in mind, you should have no trouble finding a Lightsaber and using it in Fortnite!
