During the Season of Dawn in Destiny 2, Guardians will want to set aside time to unlock the latest seasonal artifact, the Lantern of Osiris. What sets this seasonal artifact apart from previous offerings is that it’s not included in the Season Pass. Instead, it’s given to you as a reward for completing a set of missions as part of the “A Matter of Time” quest. Confused? We’ve got you covered! Below, we’ll explain what you need to do to get the Lantern of Osiris in Destiny 2.
How to get the Lantern of Osiris in Destiny 2
- Acquire the “A Disturbance on Mercury” mission from Ikora Rey.
- Speak with Osiris on Mercury.
- Earn Sundial Components by defeating Cabal.
- Visit the Tangled Shore obelisk.
- Collect Orbs of Light and defeat enemies with your Super.
- Run through the Sundial once, return to the Tangled Shore obelisk.
- Speak with Osiris and receive your Lantern of Osiris seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.
As noted above, the Lantern of Osiris is the latest seasonal artifact in Destiny 2. Introduced as part of the Season of Dawn, Guardians will need to complete a quest line called “A Matter of Time” in order to unlock the Lantern of Osiris for themselves. To do this, you’ll first need to pay a visit to Ikora Rey in the Tower and begin the Season of Dawn campaign, A Matter of Time, and its associated missions.
Note that the first mission you’ll receive from Ikora Rey is called “A Disturbance on Mercury” which tasks you with visiting Osiris on Mercury. Osiris can be found in the Sundial Spire on Mercury. When you meet up with him, he’ll give you the next step, the “Recovery Operation” mission. To complete this, you’ll need to make a quick trek over to the Tangled Shore where you’ll earn Sundial Components for Osiris by killing Cabal.
You’ll need to earn 50 Sundial Components before heading to the obelisk on the Tangled Shore. There, you’ll turn in your Sundial Components. Next, you’ll need to complete the “Light Collection” step. To do this, pick up Orbs of Light and/or use your Super to kill enemies. Again, once you’ve earned your Orbs of Light, you’ll need to turn them in at the obelisk on the Tangled Shore.
Finally, you’ll need to join five other players in a Sundial run. By completing one of these Sundial runs, you’re done with this portion of the “A Matter of Time” mission and are ready to speak with Osiris. As a reward for all of your hard work, Osiris will give you the Lantern of Light season artifact as well as a mod point. In Destiny 2, you’ll be able to earn additional mod points which can be used to improve your Lantern of Light.
