Hades now available on Steam

You can now play the hellishly fun rogue-like Hades from developer Supergiant on Steam.

After a one-year period of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store, Hades is finally available on Steam. As the newest title from indie developer Supergiant Games (Bastion, Transistor), Hades offers rogue-like gameplay set deep within the Underworld.

Hades is an extremely fun take on the rogue-like dungeon crawler genre in that death is inevitable, and furthers your progress. It doesn’t feel like a waste if you die during a run because of the currency you earn and items you unlock. The more you play, the easier each level becomes.

Another thing nice about Hades is that it has a phenomenal story based around Greek deities including the titular Hades as well as Zeus, Aphrodite, Artemis, Poseidon, and more. As Zagreus, the rebellious son of Hades, your goal is to get as far as you can away from your father and home in the Underworld.

Of course, Hades doesn’t approve of your dreams of reaching the surface, so he puts enemies in place to stop you. The gameplay is fast and responsive, making it a blast to smash apart enemies with names like Numbskull and Slam-Dancer. While you can purchase Hades on Steam at a discounted price of $19.99 right now, it’s worth noting that the game is still technically in Early Access.

What this means is that Supergiant is still working on the game, though we can attest that it’s fully playable and free of bugs. After putting hundreds of hours into it throughout the year, we can safely say it’s one of our favorite indie rogue-like titles and well worth the $19.99 purchase price on Steam.

Again, you can buy Hades right now on Steam at a discounted price. You can also purchase Hades on the Epic Games Store, the platform it originally launched on.
