SkateBIRD coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020

Get ready for Tony Hawk: Pro Skater but with actual birds.

During the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, several games were shown for Switch including SkateBIRD. In the game, you’re able to play as various different birds from conures to finches. As far as gameplay goes, it feels similar to Tony Hawk: Pro Skater and we can’t help but wonder whether you can play as an actual hawk.

Bad jokes and puns aside, Skate Bird does look like a genuinely fun romp where you’re able to skate around, help other birds, and collect hidden mixtapes. You can customize your birds with cute little accessories like hats and scarves, and it looks like you may be able to customize your skateboard as well.

Describing the game, developer Glass Bottom Games notes the following:

"You're a lonely lil' bird, and your Big Friend has hung up their board for good. Their job sucks, and lately, they're barely ever home to play with you. You're gonna fix all that with the power of being a chill little skateboarding bird. You may be tiny, but the more you skate, the more following you get, the more the world of bird skating will open up. Birds will come check out your park, help you find more parks, and together you'll (somehow) fix Big Friend's life! Above all else, skate birds try their best."

Anyone looking to learn more about the game should visit the official SkateBIRD website which has the adorable URL of skatebirb.com. Be sure to check back, as we'll be posting updates on SkateBIRD and its flight over to Nintendo Switch in 2020 as additional information becomes available. Until then, what do you think of SkateBIRD?
