Babylon's Fall trailer shows Platinum action in a fantasy setting

More info on Babylon's Fall will be shown next summer.

Babylon's Fall, the new game from Platinum Games with Square Enix, has a new trailer showing off plenty of the same DNA that brought us NieR: Automata.

The trailer, shown at today's State of Play, shows swordplay with plenty of extra, including ghostly summons and that signature timeslow on dodge which has featured in almost all of Platinum's action games, such as Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

The trailer also says that we'll find out more information on the game "next summer", which presumably will come with a release date for Babylon's Fall.

What we've seen so far is enough to convince us there'll be a game worth waiting for, especially for fans of Platinum's blend of highly-tuned fighting gameplay transposed into what looks like a dark fantasy setting.

We're not going to say it's Dark Souls X Bayonetta, but if you want to think it very loudly along with us then we can't stop you. We simply can't do anything about that.

If you liked the Babylon's Fall trailer and would like to find out more of what was revealed at today's State of Play presentation then please check out the rest of our coverage.
