Sony has announced that the final State of Play broadcast will air next week on December 10.
You’d better make room on your gaming calendar (and prepare for an early morning, west coasters!) because next week looks to be a busy one for announcements thanks to State of Play joining The Game Awards 2019 on the schedule.
Similar to Nintendo Directs but typically far less frequent, Sony’s State of Play broadcasts are pre-recorded presentations covering upcoming games and news for the console. This broadcast will take place at 6am PT (9am ET, 2pm GMT).
According to the announcement on the PlayStation blog, this direct will last around 20 minutes and will include “new game reveals, release date announcements, new gameplay footage, PlayStation Worldwide Studios updates, and more.”
Given the recently leaked Resident Evil 3 images, there’s a good chance we might see Capcom’s next remake announced officially during this broadcast, especially give Geoff Keighley said the game won’t be appearing at TGA 2019.
Where to watch the December 10 State of Play
You can watch the State of Play broadcast live on Twitch simply by returning to this page or heading to the PlayStation Twitch channel.
If Twitch isn’t your style, the broadcast will also be available on the PlayStation YouTube channel, Twitter and Facebook. Pick whichever platform you prefer and prepare to enjoy the December 10 State of Play and all the surprises it’ll bring.
One thing to note is that it’s unlikely the PS5 will be making any kind of appearance during the show. The blog explicitly states: “Don’t expect any updates related to our next-gen plans in this episode.” Sony will likely be saving the big PS5 news for the new year, so temper your excitement for now.
