The Nintendo Switch has become the fastest selling console in America after shifting 4.8 million units in its first 10 months on the market.
Alongside those new consoles, there is a reported attach rate of 60% of owners getting Super Mario Odyssey, and 55% with Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
It's probable those stats are so high given the overwhelmingly positive reception of both, and the relative scarcity of its early launch line-up which has now broadened to more than 300 games from third-party developers.
The total sold overtakes Nintendo's own record with the wildly popular family console the Wii moving just 4 million units within the same 10 month period on its 2006 release.
Nintendo have said the 2018 games line-up should be even more enticing for fans as EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Capcom, SEGA, Take 2 and Bethesda have promised releases through the year. From Nintendo themselves we can expect Kirby Star Allies, both Bayonetta games and a new Yoshi game.Load Comments
