In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Eevee has the ability to evolve into eight different Pokemon depending on what you do. For example, if you give Eevee a Fire Stone, it’ll evolve into the Fire-type evolution, Flareon. If you’ve yet to catch an Eevee, they can be found along Route 4.

Additionally, if you have save data stored on your Switch from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee, you’ll receive the Gigantamax gift version of Eevee. However, this version will not evolve, meaning you’ll still need to catch yourself an Eevee along Route 4. Once you have an Eevee you can evolve, again, you have eight possible evolution types.

Below, we’ve listed each one, and a description on how to get Eevee to evolve into that particular evolution in Pokemon Sword and Shield!

  • Flareon: You can evolve Eevee into the Fire-type, Flareon, by giving it a Fire Stone to hold. A Fire Stone can be earned as a reward from the Digging Duo out in the Wild Area, while another can be found near the Lake of Outrage region’s Wild Area.
  • Vaporeon: You can evolve Eevee into the Water-type, Vaporeon, by giving it a Water Stone to hold. A Water Stone can also be found near the Lake of Outrage region’s Wild Area near the circle of rocks, or received as a reward from the Digging Duo.
  • Jolteon: You can evolve Eevee into the Electric-type, Jolteon, by giving it a Thunder Stone to hold. Again, a Thunder Stone can be found near the circle of rocks in the Lake of Outrage region’s Wild Area, or earned as a reward from the Digging Duo.
  • Leafeon: You can evolve Eevee into the Grass-type, Leafeon, by giving it a Leaf Stone to hold. A Leaf Stone can also be found near the Lake of Outrage region’s Wild Area near the circle of rocks, or received as a reward from the Digging Duo.
  • Glaceon: You can evolve Eevee into the Ice-type, Glaceon, by giving it an Ice Stone to hold. As with other stones, you can acquire an Ice Stone near the Lake of Outrage region’s Wild Area near the circle of rocks, or grab one as a reward from the Digging Duo.
  • Espeon: You can evolve Eevee into the Psychic-type, Espeon, by leveling it up and evolving it during the day. Before you do this, you’ll first need to raise its Friendship level to three hearts. After that, check and make sure it doesn’t know any Fairy-type moves (or it’ll evolve into Sylveon). Delete or replace (overwrite) Fairy-type moves, raise your Eevee’s Friendship, then evolve it during the day to get Espeon.
  • Umbreon: You can evolve Eevee into the Dark-type, Umbreon, by leveling it up and evolving it at night. Before you do this, you’ll first need to raise its Friendship level to three hearts. You’ll also want to make sure it doesn’t known any Fairy-type moves (or it’ll evolve into Sylveon). Before evolving, either delete or replace (overwrite) any Fairy-type moves before leveling your Eevee up and evolving it at night to ensure it evolves into Umbreon.
  • Sylveon: You can evolve Eevee into the Fairy-type, Sylveon, as long as it knows a Fairy-type move. As noted above, you’ll first need to increase your Eevee’s Friendship rating to three hearts. After that, make sure it knows at least one Fairy-type move before you evolve it to ensure you get Sylveon.

If you’re set on getting all eight evolutions of Eevee, you’ll need to put the work in when it comes to catching eight different Eevee along Route 4. In most cases, Eevee will evolve once it reaches Level 15 or higher. All you need to do is put in the steps to ensure the right evolution, such as giving Eevee a Leaf or Fire Stone to hold.
