  • The first Pokemon Nursery can be found along Route 5 outside of Turffield.
  • The second Pokemon Nursery can be found near the Bridge Field Wild Area outside of Hammerlocke.

The first Pokemon Nursery is available to Pokemon Sword and Shield players relatively early on. To find this Pokemon Nursery, you’ll first need to beat the first Gym and its leader, Milo. After defeating Milo and earning your Grass Badge, you’ll have access to Route 5.

Along Route 5 outside of Turffield, you can interact with NPCs and pick up tools like the Bicycle. You can also find the Pokemon Nursery. Outside of the Pokemon Nursery, you’ll spot a friendly-looking woman outside. Speak with her and you’ll be able to leave Pokemon at the Nursery.

Alternatively, you can go inside the Pokemon Nursery and speak with other people to learn more about how the facility works. In a nutshell, the Pokemon Nursery lets you breed Pokemon with ideal IVs and earn Eggs, which can be hatched to receive new Pokemon types and expand your PokeDex.

For breeding, you’ll need a male and female of the same Pokemon type. You can also use a Ditto of any sex to breed with a Pokemon if you’re missing two of the same type.

If you don't have two of the same Pokemon type, you can also breed your Pokemon with Ditto in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Simply deposit two Pokemon following the aforementioned guidelines at the Nursery, wait, and then check back to see if your Pokemon produced an Egg. To hatch Eggs, you’ll need to walk around a set amount of steps. Pretty straightforward, right?

To maximize your usage of the Pokemon Nursery system, you’ll also want to keep an eye out for the second Nursery facility. To find the second Pokemon Nursery, simply work your way through the Bridge Field Wild Area towards the town of Hammerlocke. There, you should be able to find the second Pokemon Nursery which can be used the same way as the one along Route 5.
