In Death Stranding, players will have to work through 14 episodes in total after completing the opening Prologue. If you count the Prologue as an episode in and of itself, you could technically say that Death Stranding has 15 episodes. To get through all 14 of the main episodes in Death Stranding, you’ll need to put in around 40 hours of gameplay.
Note that in many episodes – especially the opening 3 – you’ll have to sit through lengthy cutscenes that help establish the game’s lore. If you’ve played other games from Hideo Kojima like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you’ll likely be familiar with these sort of cinematic cutscenes.
While you have the option to skip past many of these cutscenes and fast-forward through areas of dialogue between Sam and the people he’s delivering goods to, it’ll still take you a sizable chunk of time to complete all 14 episodes in Death Stranding. Again, 40 hours is the average completion time for Death Stranding.
