We know everyone has their own style of play, so we’ve put together a few different loadouts below that are suited to different playstyles. Try them out, feel free to adjust attachments if needed and find which M4A1 class is the best for you.

All-rounder

With boosts to ADS speed, recoil control and accuracy, this class aims to keep the M4A1 effective over any range so you’re comfortable in all situations.

Muzzle: Compensator

Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier

Laser: Tac Laser

Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex

Stock: M-16 Stock

Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape

Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip

Stealthy

Prefer sneaking around out of sight to catch your enemies off-guard? Try out this setup for stealthy flair. Don’t forget to include the Ghost perk to keep you off enemy UAVs while you’re tracking your prey.

Barrel: FFS 12.4" Predator

Optic: Thermal Hybrid

Stock: Singuard Arms Invader

Perk: Fully Loaded

Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip

Competitive

This class comes directly from experience Call of Duty pro, Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter. It won’t compensate for recoil quite as much as others on this list, but finds a fine balance between improving the range of the weapon without hitting mobility too much. If you fancy yourself a top player, you’ll likely want to learn to handle this beast.

Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier

Optic: Cronen LP945 Mini Reflex

Stock: Singuard Arms Invader

Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape

Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip

The best perks

So far at least, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is pretty flexible when it comes to your perk choices, especially in your first and third slot. If you’re not sure what to add, we recommend E.O.D. for slot one and Amped for slot three. The second perk slot is less well balanced, and Ghost is almost always the best choice unless you’re building something unusual. It’ll keep you hidden from UAVs, which is a huge advantage in online multiplayer.
