You'll want a controller with vibration if you're aiming to track down all 16 Secret Boo locations.

There’s a Secret Boo to be found on every single floor of Luigi’s Mansion 3, with the exception of the lofty heights of the 15th. Including two basements, that makes for a total of 16 to be found. You need to not only find these ghosts, but catch them as well with your Poltergust G-00. They’ll turn invisible, but you can reveal them with your Dark Light before slamming them around. Look for spots where the fog on the floor clears if you want to locate them.

The Secret Boos aren’t always found in specific objects, but they will be in certain rooms. Your controller will vibrate when close, and you can tell if you’re in the right room because the same spooky organ music will play. When you’re inside the room, feel the vibrations and watch the Poltergust shake. When there’s a lot of vibration, you’re close to the right object. If you guess wrong then the boo will move to another room and you need to repeat the process. We highly recommend using a controller with vibration for this task.

We’ll point out where we found them, but you might need to search around the rooms a bit to properly discover them for yourself. Here’s every location you need to visit to collect each and every Secret Boo, broken down by floor. Simply click the link below to jump to the Boo you're after:

B2 Secret Boo

Starting at the base of the building we have a gluttonous Boo to grab. From the elevator head to the central ladder room (waterworks) then pass through the large vault door to the tank room. We found this first Secret Boo in the fridge here. He’s clearly gobbled up all the food, so capture and teach him a lesson!

B1 Secret Boo

One floor up and we have a Secret Boo who clearly cares about keeping things clean. Make your way to the left of this floor and into the laundry room. Shake the laundry machine or object closest to when your controller vibrates the most to dislodge the Boo hiding within.

1F Secret Boo

The 1F Secret Boo can be found in a couple of spots close to the elevator. You might find him in the gargoyle on the right if you head towards the camera. Otherwise, check the boxes in the first room near to the elevator. Again, pay attention to that vibration.

2F Secret Boo

The 2F Secret Boo can be found in several spots. We found him hiding away in the toilet in the ladies bathroom, in the makeup studio and in the bedroom with a darts board. Keep an eye out and once you hear the music, you know you’re in the right spot.

3F Secret Boo

We found the 3F Boo in the men’s bathroom. Check the toilets in here and then use Gooigi to pop through to the other bathroom and check there as well. He’s often in the toilet or the box in the corner.

4F Secret Boo

Make your way to the bathroom again, look through the toilets and check or smash the toolbox here to find Boogie.

5F Secret Boo

This Boo can be found in a few different rooms, including 504, 505 and 506. In each of the rooms, check the drawers to see if you can find Boolldog hiding within.

6F Secret Boo

On the sixth floor, make your way to the medieval fantasy area by using Gooigi to open the gate. Make your way forward then take the left route until you reach the wooden stairs with suits of armor behind spikes. Smash the suits of armor and you’ll find Boo-at-arms hiding within.

7F Secret Boo

Follow this floor around and up the stairs until you arrive at the bathroom overrun by plants and covered in leaves (seriously, what is it with these Secret Boos and bathrooms?). The entrance is on one of the left sides, just after a set of stairs and the swinging vine. Feel the vibration and interact with the vases inside to uncover Bootanist.

8F Secret Boo

The eighth floor is where the movie magic happens. To find your lead actor in this hunt for a Secret Boo, head to the studios in turn and check the black and white crates contained within. We’ve seen this Booducer found in both Studio 1 and Studio 2, so check them first and listen for the organ music.

9F Secret Boo

The 9F Secret Boo sees you return to the art exhibition where you fought the dinosaur. Check each of the canvas-covered paintings and when you find one which vibrates the most, suck the canvas off to uncover Boones.

10F Secret Boo

On this ancient floor, make your way through to the Scales areas with sand pouring from the ceiling and vases scattered across the floor. Check the vases then interact with or smash the appropriate one and you’ll uncover AnuBoo.

11F Secret Boo

The 11F Secret Boo can be found in several rooms including the false bedroom and the back room with a large window. Listen for the music then check the vibrations again. We’ve seen Boofuddler in the left desk of the fake bedroom and the fridge of the large window room.

12F Secret Boo

We’re pretty sure this boo is located in the Grotto Lounge, but if you can’t find him or mess up here, he’ll often move one room back to the large pirate ship. In either room, it’s the barrels you want to look out for. Find the one which causes your controller to vibrate, then smash it to reveal Booccaneer.

13F Secret Boo

The 13F Boo is clearly a fan of exercise, and to find him we suggest making your way to the room covered in yoga mats. He’ll be hiding in one of the baskets here, so walk around each and interact with the one which vibrates the most to release Boodybuilder.

14F Secret Boo

Finally, up on the 14th floor you should make your way along the path to the gift shop area. Listen for the music then check either the cash register or the bins outside. Whichever makes your controller vibrate the most.
