The Flames of Fate can be obtained from the Ferry of the Damned in Sea of Thieves.

As with previous events that used them, you can get the Flames of Fate in Sea of Thieves only by dying in certain ways. Find yourself on the Ferry of the Damned after a certain type of demise and you’ll be offered the corresponding Flame of Fate. You’ll need all six to access the Fort of the Damned, so get your crew ready and steel your resolve as you prepare to die, repeatedly. Here’s how to get all Flames of Fate in Sea of Thieves:

  • Blue - Killed by a shark
  • Red - Killed by a volcano
  • Pink - Killed by another player
  • Green - Killed by a skeleton
  • Purple - Killed by poison
  • White - Killed by lightning

Most of these are fairly straightforward, albeit a little scary. Even the White Flame of Fate is much easier than it used to be. You can now politely call lighting to your position by riding into a storm and holding your sword aloft. We do not recommend trying this in real life.

Should you die by any other means, you won’t be given access to a flame of fate. Within your crew you’ll need all six flames, so get yourselves out there and find yourself a fitting death! You don’t need everyone to earn each flame, but it will help when it comes to battling the enemies you’ll find within a fort. Don’t forget to collect some Ritual Skulls too, as these will let you retry the fort multiple times without collecting the Flames of Fate once again.
