In Fortnite Chapter 2, you’ll find boats as you explore watery landmark areas like Sweaty Sands. For a closer look at where you can find boats, be sure to read through our previous guide as we have images of several different boat locations in Fortnite Chapter 2. To board a boat, you’ll want to approach it and interact with it by pressing X on Xbox One, Square on PlayStation 4, and E on PC.

Once you’ve boarded your boat, you can move forward through the water by using your left stick on Xbox One and PS4, and WASD on PC. If the boat is going too slow for your needs, you can use a Boost by tapping L-Stick on Xbox One and PS4, or using L-Shift on PC. On the right side of your boat is a meter which will show you how much Boost you have available.

When you use up your Boost, you’ll need to wait a few seconds for the meter to refill before you can Boost again. If you’re using a boat with a teammate and find yourself struggling to steer correctly, you can switch seats by tapping R-Stick on Xbox One and PS4, or hitting L-CTRL on PC. Even if you’re not the best driver, the penalty for abusing your boat is pretty slim.

You can technically drive boats on land in Fortnite Chapter 2, but doing so will slowly damage your boat.

For example, you can technically drive your boat on land, though doing so will slowly damage your boat. Rather than ramming an enemy shooting you from the shore, you’ll want to make use of your boat’s Missile system. To fire a Missile, press RB on Xbox One, R2 on PS4, or Left-Click on PC.

You can also disembark from your boat by pressing X on Xbox One, Square on PS4, and E on PC. Depending on the situation, this can be a better strategy as it’s somewhat difficult to aim and fire Missiles from your boat if your enemy is on the move. Keep in mind that by leaving your boat, you also leave yourself vulnerable to an enemy stealing the boat and driving away with it.

As long as you keep all of the above info in mind, you should be able to master the art of driving a boat through the Fortnite Season 2 map in no time!
