At the start of the game, you’ll be asked to choose between four difficulty settings including Arcade, Regular, Advanced, and Extreme. If you want to breeze through the game as quickly as possible, Arcade is the easiest setting. For a real challenge, Extreme is the hardest difficulty setting you can choose.

Once you choose your desired difficulty setting in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you’ll get to see how that setting plays out in regards to things like health regeneration. If you’re struggling to progress in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint (or are finding things a bit too easy), changing your difficulty is relatively simple.

To change difficulty, hit Menu on Xbox One or Options on PS4 to open your loadout screen. From the loadout screen, move over to Options and then look for Settings. Inside of your Settings menu, look for “Game Difficulty” near “Gameplay” and then expand the difficulty options. You’ll see the same four difficulty settings shown to you at the beginning of the game, and from here, you’ll be able to choose a new setting.

For example, if you’re playing on Extreme, you can lower it down to Advanced. Save your new settings, then resume where you left off in the game to see if the change made a difference. You can change your difficulty settings as needed in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon without penalty, though you’ll likely only need to adjust things once (if at all) after picking an option at the start of the game.

Below, we’ve created a bulleted list that recaps what you need to do to change your difficulty in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

  • Select between four difficulty settings (Arcade, Regular, Advanced, Extreme) at the beginning of the game.
  • To change, open your loadout screen, choose Options, then select Settings.
  • Inside the Settings menu, look for Game Difficulty near the Gameplay section.
  • Expand the difficulty options, choose a new setting from the four available, then save and resume your game.
