To address whether you can change your class in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the answer is yes, you can. Regardless of which class you choose as your first pick (Assault, Sharpshooter, Panther, Field Medic), you can change to a different class as long as you complete a few side steps. First, you’ll need to acquire enough Skill Points to unlock a new class.

If you know you’re going to change your class, you may want to off on spending Skill Points on new abilities until that class is unlocked. To check to see if you have enough Skill Points on hand to unlock a different class, you’ll need to head to a nearby Bivouac. You’ll find your first Bivouac in the center of the Erewhon headquarters area, though you can unlock more Bivouacs as you progress through the game.

As you rest at a Bivouac, you can view and unlock new classes under the “Skills” tab in your menu. All four classes will be in a large row under “Basics” and when you hover over them, you can view additional information, and the Skill Point cost to unlock. On the right side of your screen, you can also see how many Skill Points you currently have available.

As long as you have 2 or more classes unlocked, you’ll be able to freely change between them, though you can’t swap from the Skills menu. Instead, you’ll need to move over to the “Tactics” menu. From the Tactics menu, you can view the four classes again, see which ones you’ve unlocked, and then change between your unlocked classes by pressing A on Xbox One, X on PS4, or left-click on your PC mouse.

To recap, here’s what you need to do to change your class in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

  • Rest at a Bivouac.
  • Unlock a new class from the Skills menu by spending Skill Points.
  • Switch over to the Tactics menu.
  • Select a new class to change to from the ones you have unlocked.
  • Press A on Xbox One, X on PS4, or left-click on PC to confirm the class change.
