Introduced during the Season of Opulence in Destiny 2, players are able to put Rune recipes together in the Chalice of Opulence. In doing so, special weapons and armor can be crafted. There are 12 Rune types in Destiny 2 under four different color umbrellas (Blue, Red, Purple, Green). Each of these colors relates to gear sets you can get when you work through Rune recipes and craft them. Of course, knowing the exact recipes can help save you time, especially if you’re looking to craft a specific item. As mentioned above, Rune recipes are comprised of Runes with 12 Rune types in existence under colors such as purple, red, blue, and green in Destiny 2. Runes can be acquired through most matchmade activities, bounties assigned by Werner and Benedict, chests on Calus’ Barge, and chests on Warner’s Barge.
Note that if you’ve been struggling to acquire Runes, you can also speak with Benedict and Werner 99-40 to use the Runefinder, thereby increasing your Rune drop chance for four hours. Once you acquire Runes, and unlock all four color Rune types on your Chalice of Opulence, you can use them to craft weapons and items. Depending on what armor or weapon you’re after, you’ll need to mix a Rune of a specific color type along with a Rune like Wealth or Cunning in Destiny 2.
