Guilty Gear 2020 trailer introduces returning characters, not PS4 exclusive

The TGS 2019 trailer for Guilty Gear's 2020 installment reveals three familiar faces.

Guilty Gear's 2020 installment has a full-length Tokyo Game Show trailer after the teaser from earlier this month, revealing three of the returning characters.

As it wouldn't be a Guilty Gear game without him, Sol Badguy and his amazing name will be in the new game from Arc System Works, which is due for release in 2020.

He'll be joined by Ky Kiske, who also starred in the teaser trailer, and a new announcement of the daredevil May who will be joining with her massive anchor in tow.

An interview with Famitsu magazine reveals that the game will not be PS4 exclusive, and is neither a numbered game nor a reboot, suggesting the back-to-basics title may not be final yet. It's also not an offshoot Xrd game, but will continue the story from Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

However, while it's continuing the story, not all fighters from Rev 2 will return in this installment, which features a completely reworked fighting system with mechanics developed from scratch.

Music for the 2020 Guilty Gear game will be composed by series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari who may also reprise his role as the voice actor for series staple Sol Badguy.

Are you excited for the release of Guilty Gear 2020, or whatever it ends up being called? We look forward to finding out exactly who ends up on the final roster.
