The HTC Vive Cosmos can be pre-ordered right now for $699 (USD). As added incentive to pre-order the device, buyers will receive a 12-month subscription for Viveport Infinity. The ship date for the HTC Vive Cosmos is listed as October 3 with free Standard shipping available. To get it as soon as possible, 2-Day shipping can be purchased for an additional $30 (USD).

What helps set the HTC Vive Cosmos apart is that it uses motion controllers rather than external sensors, which often require a tedious setup process. Added immersion is provided with integrated headphones, while a flip-up design on the headset itself will let you remove yourself from VR and re-orient yourself if needed.

Addressing what sets the Vive Cosmos apart from other HTC headsets in a new press release, Graham Wheeler, General Manager at HTC EMEA, explained:

“Cosmos offers an unmatched experience and is our most versatile headset yet. With inside-out tracking, options in the future for different faceplates, unlimited content in the box, and the new user interface, we see limitless possibilities for XR customers. We’re thrilled to be delivering the promise of premium VR to an ever growing audience.”
