The max level cap in Gears 5 is shared between all multiplayer modes. For example, your max level cap in Horde mode will be your max level cap in Versus mode and so on. To view your current level, all you need to do is look at the data displayed in the upper right corner of the menu screen for multiplayer.

Right now, the max level cap for multiplayer as discovered by Gears 5 players is level 100. For returning Gears fans, this won’t come as a surprise as previous Gears games have also boasted a max multiplayer level cap of 100. To reach the max level cap in multiplayer, you’ll need to regularly play multiplayer modes and earn XP.

For example, you can play round after round of Horde mode to earn XP that counts towards your overall level for multiplayer in Gears 5. The way reach the max level cap for multiplayer in Gears 5 is entirely up to you. If you only want to play Horde mode, you can certainly hit the level cap in that mode alone.

Again, the level cap is shared between multiplayer modes so if you decide to give Versus a try, you’ll still earn XP that counts towards your overall multiplayer level. Note that once you reach the max level cap for multiplayer in Gears 5, you won’t be able to earn any additional level bonuses (as you’d expect). Of course, what’s nice is that if you’re playing Versus, you won’t have to worry about your level impacting the matchmaking process as this mode utilizes a Divisions Ranking System and Skill Ratings to connect you with other players.
