Haunting new P.T. secret discovered

Nope. Nope. Nope.

P.T. is undoubtedly one of the most talked about projects from Hideo Kojima, and for good reason. Four years after Konami made the baffling decision to scrap Silent Hills and delist the download for P.T., those fortunate enough to have retained the original download continue to unravel the game’s mysteries. Recently, a YouTuber by the name of Lance McDonald was able to uncover a brand new P.T. secret that will creep you out beyond belief.

Even though P.T. was put away on a virtual shelf by Konami and left to gather dust, a handful of digital copies remain available. P.T. has gained a sort of cult following over the years with a variety of fan versions available for download. Of course, there will always be differences between a fan-made copy of P.T. and the original title, as emphasized by an unsettling secret discovered by YouTube creator Lance McDonald.

By playing around with the code, McDonald was able to turn the camera all the way around to see what lurks behind you as you play P.T. and it’s pure nightmare fuel. With the visual example provided by McDonald, you can see that Lisa is constantly behind you as you play the game, even though the stock camera settings make it so that you cannot see her.

What’s more, if you play the game as normal and move your flashlight around, there are potential instances where you can cast a shadow capable of revealing this secret. Without McDonald’s camera-turning confirmation though, gamers might’ve been able to brush off the shadows as one of P.T.’s creepy effects rather than Lisa herself.

McDonald went on to explain on social media that not only is Lisa constantly behind you in P.T., she's actually programmed to physically cling to you and remain there once you pick up the flashlight.

“She actually attaches to the player’s back as soon as you get the flashlight,” McDonald points out. “Here, I demonstrate how you can see some strange shadows. I then lock the camera in place and walk forward, showing how she’s always there… following you.”

With Halloween a month away, we’re always looking to be spooked and this new P.T. secret has certainly done the trick. If it’s left you itching for more P.T. content, McDonald confirmed that he has even more to show. “I have much more to show you, I’m excited to work on this. At the moment, my camera patches are very limited, but I hope to attach them to the gamepad soon so I can freely move it as I like.”

On the one hand, we’re excited to see what else McDonald can uncover in P.T., while on the other hand… we’re still struggling to get over the fact that Lisa attaches to your back. Seriously, she just tags along, lurking behind you making noises the whole time. It's a "nope" from us.

After seeing the new P.T. secret discovered by Lance McDonald, what do you think? Did it confirm your suspicions that Lisa was there all along, or was it a terrifying surprise? Let us know down in the comments below!
