Dragon Quest Builders coming to Switch in February

February 9 for your Minecraft-like fix.

The Minecraft-alike Dragon Quest Builders will be making its way to the One True Console on February 9 with a Nintendo Switch release.

The game arrived last year for PS4, PS3 and the previous owner of the True Console title, the Vita (PBUH) but will now let you gather materials to build your town by fighting classic monsters from the DQ series, such as slimes.

One of the major differences between its clear inspiration Minecraft is the story mode that drives you forward through fighting and building.

Now you’ll get to experience this story on the Switch, perfectly suited to the pick up and go nature of Nintendo’s console of the year.

There’s no word yet on whether the sequel, Dragon Quest Builders 2 – which adds co-op play – will also be heading to Switch but this is the first step in the right direction.
