How to get the Langston's Runaways Rubber Duck in Control

Don't let a bath toy take you for a spin, follow this guide to get the Rubber Duck in Control and catch all of Langston's Runaways.

Control’s side missions are usually pretty fun, but tracking down Langston’s Runaways can often prove quite confusing as it won’t be immediately obvious where to find the escaped AWEs. One particularly confusing haunted object is the Rubber Duck. If you’re having trouble catching this pesky bath toy, don’t worry. In this guide we’ll teach you how to get the Langston’s Runaways Rubber Duck in Control so you can put the yellow fellow in his place.

The Langston’s Runaways mission will tell you that the Rubber Duck is contained in the Research: Protective Studies area of the map. Make your way there and you’ll find the duck seemingly locked safely within a chamber. If it’s already trapped, why do you need to cleanse it? More pressingly, there doesn’t appear to be any direct way in and all you can do is listen to a tape of someone experimenting with the duck.

To get the Rubber Duck in Control, you’ll need to head down the corridor to the other end of Protective Studies. From there (just outside the HRA Lab), find the door hidden behind all the boxes and enter. Look up at the wall to see a hole directly opposite the door. Leap up with the Levitate ability and follow the tunnel with all the mold growing in it.

At the end of the tunnel you'll find a chest to open and a hole through a doorway on your right. You’ll be able to reach the duck from here, but as you approach it’ll teleport with a taunting quack. You’ll need to return to the main room via the doors here and listen for the quacks, following the duck as it jumps around the room. Eventually it’ll stop and you’ll be able to approach and cleanse the Rubber Duck AWE, returning it to captivity.
