Right now, current reports place the completion time of Astral Chain at anywhere between 12 to 18 hours depending on your playstyle and difficulty settings. In terms of chapters, there are 12 chapters in total called “Files” with each File taking just under an hour or less to complete with the exception of the very last File.

To elaborate, File 11 is the last story File while File 12 offers more end-game content in the form of combat missions and quests. If you’re looking to rush through the campaign, 12 hours is a fair estimated completion time. Meanwhile, if you want to fully explore each area of Astral Chain like we did, you’re looking at closer to 18 hours.

For gamers interested in a 100% completion of Astral Chain at a higher difficulty setting, that time could push up to around 20 hours. Overall, it shouldn’t take you too long to beat Astral Chain if you’re planning on playing other games. It definitely plays like a PlatinumGames title, but is closer to the likes of Bayonetta 2 than NieR: Automata in terms of length.

Keep in mind that your completion time will vary depending on how you play and the difficulty setting you choose. As noted above, it’ll take most players around 12-18 hours to beat Astral Chain, with completionists looking at upwards of 20 hours.
